01How do I book the road test?
It depends on your county, and each Tax Collector serves its own residents. Osceola County gives the road test by appointment at its Main Office and Campbell City Office in Kissimmee. Orange County offers it at five offices and books it through the road test page it runs with Orange Osceola Safety Institute. FLHSMV also lists third-party exam providers.
02What should I bring on test day?
Bring your learner's license. Applicants under 18 also bring the certification of their supervised driving hours signed by a parent or guardian. The vehicle needs valid registration and proof of Florida insurance. Check your Tax Collector's list before you go, because missing paperwork can end the appointment before the drive.
03What can stop the test before it starts?
The examiner inspects the car first. A horn, mirror, seat belt, turn signal, brake light or tail light that does not work, steering or brake problems, unsafe tires, no working driver-side wiper or headlights, or cracked glass that blocks the view can each end the test. Premium Plus and Premium Ultra include the test in our vehicle.
04Which mistakes cost the most points?
Rolling through a stop sign, forgetting to signal or to check mirrors and blind spots, swinging wide on turns, drifting out of the lane and following too closely are common problems. They match items the Florida skills test scores, so we practice them until they become habits, not just test-day tricks.
05The test is in English. How do I prepare if I prefer Spanish?
Since February 6, 2026, FLHSMV gives all knowledge and skills exams in English only, without interpreters. During lessons we can practice the kind of instructions an examiner gives, such as turn left at the next intersection or pull over and stop, so you recognize them right away on test day.
06What happens after I pass?
The license itself is issued at a driver license office or Tax Collector. Drivers who are 16 may then drive between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m., and those who are 17 between 5 a.m. and 1 a.m., unless they are driving to or from work or with a licensed driver who is 21 or older.
07Can I practice at the test site?
Check your testing office first. The Orange County Tax Collector, for example, prohibits practicing on or near its road testing area during business hours. We build every scored skill on other streets and parking lots, so you do not need the test route to be ready.
08How do backing and the quick stop work on the test?
For backing, FLHSMV asks you to reverse about 50 feet at a slow speed while looking to the rear, without relying on the rear-view mirror or camera. For the quick stop, the examiner tells you to stop quickly and safely. Both reward control and smooth, steady speed more than hurry.
09Is a mock test worth it before the real one?
Yes. A practice run in traffic, scored against the same items as the real test, shows exactly which maneuvers still need work and helps with nerves because the format is no longer a surprise. We do it near the end of your preparation, not on the first day.

01What does the Florida driving skills test include?
According to FLHSMV, the Class E skills test checks maneuvers such as the three-point turn, straight-in parking, parking on a grade, the quick stop and backing, plus how you obey stop signs and signals, yield right-of-way, signal and turn, stay in your lane, keep a safe following distance and maintain proper posture.
02Can I take the road test in your car?
Yes. Our Premium Plus and Premium Ultra packages include practice and the road test in our vehicle. Pick-up is included; drop-off is not. Road packages from Gold up also include our car for the road test. Florida requires the test vehicle to have valid registration, proof of insurance and working equipment such as lights, brakes, horn and signals.
03What is the difference between Premium Plus and Premium Ultra?
Premium Plus ($175) is a 30-minute refresher lesson plus the road test. Premium Ultra ($255) gives you a full 2-hour refresher lesson before the road test, for drivers who want more practice first.
04I failed my road test. Can you help?

05Do I also need the knowledge exam?
Yes. You need a learner's license first, which requires passing the Class E knowledge exam: 50 questions, 40 correct to pass. Our online courses include permit exam prep.
