Poinciana is split almost evenly between Osceola and Polk, and your county sets your road test office. Lessons start at your door, in English or Spanish.

Poinciana covers almost 72 square miles, from Osceola-side streets with a Kissimmee mailing address to the Polk side along Cypress Parkway. Share your exact address when booking; we confirm pick-up there and practice on the roads you use.
Gold and Platinum, our two most popular packages, leave room for toll-parkway merges and long Cypress Parkway runs. Already driving and only need the test? Premium Plus or Premium Ultra puts you in our car on test day.

Michele Muniz · Google reviewPoinciana splits almost evenly between two counties (34,394 and 34,915 residents in 2020), so next-door neighbors can end up testing at different Tax Collector offices. Your property's county decides.
Osceola-side households reserve Main or Campbell City online; Polk-side households book at appointments.polktaxes.com. Neither Tax Collector accepts residents of another county. Checked October 2026.
Roads named here are examples. Your instructor sets the pace from your skills, the time of day and any road work.
In Poinciana, the office that gives your road test depends on which side of the county line you live on. The 2020 Census counted 34,394 residents in the Osceola part and 34,915 in the Polk part, an almost even split. Each Tax Collector serves only its own county's residents, so neighbors a few streets apart can end up at different offices.
On the Osceola side, the Road Skills Test is given by appointment at the Main Office on East Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway or the Campbell City Office on South Orange Blossom Trail. By OpenStreetMap routing, Campbell City is about 14.5 miles from the center of Poinciana. Polk-side residents book at appointments.polktaxes.com, where the Lake Alfred Service Center, about 17.1 miles away by the same routing, is one of the Polk centers that give road tests.
FDOT's 2025 traffic counts show what a new driver meets close to home here:
Those numbers are the reason lessons here go well beyond quiet residential loops.
Three kinds of road shape practice in Poinciana right now. The first is the toll parkway: SR 538 has no cash booths, and drivers without E-PASS or another transponder are billed through Pay By Plate, so families should settle how tolls get paid before a learner takes that route.
The second is the roundabout. In early 2026, Osceola County began building single-lane roundabouts on Marigold Avenue at Peabody Road, Laurel Avenue and San Lorenzo Road, plus a northbound left-turn lane at San Miguel Road. We teach slowing early, yielding to traffic already circulating and picking your exit before you enter.
The third is the work zone. The Poinciana Boulevard widening has been under construction since late 2023, which brings shifted lanes, barrels and less room at the edge. Lessons can include those stretches to practice a steady speed and regular mirror checks.
According to the Census Bureau's American Community Survey (2020–2024), about 47.6% of Poinciana residents age 5 and older speak Spanish at home, counting both the Osceola and Polk parts. If you think through traffic rules in Spanish first, your instructor can explain a maneuver in Spanish, then repeat it in English, switching whenever you ask.
One rule matters for every Spanish speaker: since February 6, 2026, all Florida knowledge and skills exams are given in English only, with no interpreters. You can study in Spanish, but test day happens in English. That is why we mix English commands into later lessons, such as “turn left at the next light” or “pull over to the curb,” so the examiner's instructions already sound familiar when it counts.
Road packages include pick-up at the student's address, and in Poinciana that address matters more than usual. The community covers about 71.9 square miles of land according to the Census Gazetteer, and the route from our office at 3831 W Vine St in Kissimmee runs about 16 miles by road via Hoagland Boulevard, Pleasant Hill Road (CR 531) and Cypress Parkway to its center. Some villages sit closer, others much farther.
Give us your full address when you book and we confirm the pick-up point. If your package includes our car for the road test, we pick you up at home but do not drive you back afterward, so plan a ride from the Osceola or Polk office. Osceola-side addresses carry a Kissimmee mailing city; your county, not the city on the envelope, decides your test office.
Teens under 18 who have never held a license take the 6-hour DETS course before applying for a learner's license, and they can take the Class E knowledge exam online with a parent or guardian monitoring. Adults 18 and older licensing for the first time take the 4-hour TLSAE course and sit the knowledge exam in person.
After that, the rules split by age. A teen keeps the learner's license for 12 months or until turning 18, drives only in daylight for the first three months and then until 10 p.m., always with a licensed driver 21 or older in the front passenger seat, and logs 50 supervised hours, 10 at night. In Poinciana, a parent can cover many of those hours on residential streets and leave the parkway and Cypress Parkway traffic for lessons.
Poinciana Parkway crosses Reedy Creek Swamp on a 6,200-foot bridge built to keep a wildlife corridor open. For a learner, crossing it is a good exercise in holding lane position and speed over a long span. The parkway opened in 2016, and the Central Florida Expressway Authority took over its operation at the end of 2018.
Two other landmarks help with orientation. SunRail's Poinciana station, at 5025 S. Rail Avenue in Kissimmee, is the southern end of the line, so every train leaves it heading north. The Osceola Library System's Poinciana Branch Library, at 101 North Doverplum Avenue, sits inside the Osceola part of the community and makes a handy study spot for the driver handbook.
The community itself dates to 1972 and spans about 47,000 acres across both counties.
